Ho Nang Ussa หอนางอุสา
Near Ban Phue บันผือ, around 50 kilometers northwest of Udon Thani and 50 kilometers southwest of Nong Khai lies Phu Phrabat Historical Park อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ภูพระบาท, on a plateau on sandstone (120 meters above sea), from where you have an excellent view across the ricefields of the Mekong plain. In the park you discover bizarre geological formations, cave paintings, temples and prehistoric dwellings. The shape of the rocks resulted from glacial movement millions of years ago. You find buildings, that are not entirely built by human beings, but formed under rocks. Im some caves red paintings show men and animals (Tham Khon ถ้ำคน, cave of the men, and Tham Wua ถ้ำวัวแดง, cave of beef). They are said to date from 5000 till 6000 before Christ, other sources date them later.

There is a forest on the plateau. In an opening inside you discover Wat Phra Phutthabat Bua Bok (วัดพระพุทธบาทบัวบก): Some Chedis and a prang, that is an imitation of Wat Phra That Phanom in Nakhon Phanom. Inside there is a footprint of Buddha. A bit more to the south lies Wat Phra Phuttabat Bua Baan (วัดพระพุทธบาทบัวบาน).
